I am Gerry Ilagan – the owner and author of this website (https://igerry.com, https://igerry.org). I previously engage in iOS and WordPress development work – designing and developing iOS apps and WordPress sites.

I have a background in electronics and communications engineering so I try to focus on real life solutions based on electronics with special focus on Home Automation, the Internet of Things (IoT) and how AI can help in such scenarios.

AI has skyrocketed during the recent years. It is possible that during this decade we will see the next evolution of AI into what is know as AGI or Artificial General Intelligence. A scenario where a network of computer has the capacity to assimilate all the knowledge humankind has accumulated and use such data to form knowledge better than any individual who is an expert in any field — this has an unlimited amount of possibilities!

With such power, it can either be a boon to helping mankind solve many of our global problems if used properly. In the wrong hands, this could lead to a totally different scenario which I do not even want to to start imagining.

So, I have decided to restart my blog again with the objective of being able to share the things I enjoy in technological advancement especially when it comes to home automation and IoT, engage to DIY projects as I try to survive the road towards a very exciting future of AI and prepare for the possibilities — both good and not good.

The next few years is going to be a bumpy ride — we either end up in dystopia or eutopia! The choice is ours.
